ThunderCrow™ Waterproof Dry Bag Survival Fire Kit

ThunderCrow™ Waterproof Dry Bag Survival Fire Kit

$44.95

This custom built fire kit has everything you need to build a fire in any scenario imaginable - and room to spare for adding your own kit or foraged tinder if desired.

This kit comes packaged in a heavyweight .5mm thick 500D dry bag with roll top. It is waterproof and completely submersible. Because air is also trapped in the bag when it is closed, the kit also floats. An optional web shoulder strap is also included if the need arises to carry the kit solo for foraging. It is bright red for visibility. The size is 2-liters and measures 9-inches tall x 6-inches wide.

Inside this kit you’ll find the following items:

  • CreekCore™ Ferro Rod w/ High Visibility Red Handle and reflective paracord lanyard to spot if lost at night. Striker included.

  • 1-inch x 6-inch Magnesium Bar: Shavings can be scraped from this bar to ignite using ferro rod. Magnesium shavings burn at a very hot temperature and can be used to ignite tinder.

  • 1-inch x 5-inch Waxed Jute Hank: This thick hank of waxed jute can be unraveled or shaved to use as fire tinder. Burns even when wet.

  • Char Rope: Charred cotton rope can be used to create an ember for blowing a tinder bundle into flame.

  • 1-inch x 4-inch Fat Wood Stick: Natural pine resin soaked wood (fat wood) is highly flammable. Shavings can be ignited with ferro rod or the stick can be split for emergency hot burning kindling.

  • Wallet Magnifying Lens: This small magnifying lens can be used to ignite char rope or other smoldering tinders.

  • Dragon Tongue Fire Tinder: Dragon Tongue Tinder is the new standard in water resistant survival fire tinder. The included tin includes a handful of “tongues” that can be unrolled and torn apart to start many fires. The 100% cotton fibers are saturated with a flammable wax that burns strong and hot to help ignite stubborn tinder in the worst of environments. Use this with the sparks from any ferro rod and see how well it burns for yourself!

  • Natural Fiber Tinder Bundle: If you find yourself in wet or snowy condition when dry tinder is scarce, this emergency tinder bundle can be used to start a fire. A full handful of fibers can be easily ignited with the sparks from your ferro rod.

  • NOT IF BUT WHEN Web Lanyard: This 25-inch-long x 1-inch-wide web lanyard is perfect for keeping quick access items around your neck. Ideal for keys, whistle, ferro rods, and more. The buckle allows you to quickly detach the item if necessary for use. A large karabiner is sewn on the end for attaching to larger items. A split keyring is included. Printed with Creek’s logo and the words NOT IF BUT WHEN.

  • POCKET FIELD GUIDE: Master the Bow Drill: Creek has taken 20 years of friction fire experience and packed it into 58 pages of the most thorough bow drill friction fire instruction ever written.
