Drew Sharp – Obsidian Knife – 4" Blade

Drew Sharp – Obsidian Knife – 4" Blade

$145.00

This handcrafted obsidian knife features a razor-sharp 4-inch blade paired with a beautifully contoured deer antler handle. At 9 3/8 inches overall, it strikes the perfect balance between precision and control, making it an exceptional tool for detailed game processing work.

Obsidian is volcanic glass and is capable of achieving an edge sharper than most steel blades. Its fine edge excels at slicing tasks, making it ideal for skinning and processing game with clean, efficient cuts. The natural sheen of the obsidian contrasts strikingly with the organic character of the antler handle, giving this knife both performance and aesthetic appeal.

The deer antler handle offers a naturally textured, ergonomic grip that feels secure and comfortable in the hand. Each antler handle is unique, ensuring that no two knives in this series are exactly alike.

As with all stone and glass blades, this knife is designed for controlled slicing tasks only. It should not be used for chopping, prying, or heavy batoning, as obsidian can fracture under lateral stress. When used properly, however, it delivers extraordinary sharpness and refined performance.

This knife is part of a limited series of handmade blades, each individually knapped and fitted by hand.

Maker Highlight – Drew Sharp

Drew Sharp is one of North America’s most talented flint knappers and a featured instructor at WILD GOD Survival Courses. Raised in Union, Mississippi, Drew developed an early passion for primitive survival skills and traditional craftsmanship. Inspired by the work of Ryan Gill of Hunt Primitive, he began studying the ancient art of flintknapping—transforming raw stone into functional tools using traditional methods.

Flintknapping is the careful process of striking and pressure-flaking stone to shape knives, arrowheads, and spear points from raw material. Drew’s work reflects years of dedication to mastering this nearly lost craft. Each blade in this series represents patience, precision, and a deep respect for primitive toolmaking traditions.
